Assault and attempted robbery in Kingsmead Road, Canterbury stopped by passer-by on e-scooter

A boy was taken to hospital after two would-be muggers assaulted him and attempted to steal his wallet only to be foiled by an e-scooter rider.

The youngster was walking along a footpath running under Kingsmead Road in Canterbury when he was approached by two teens, one of whom had a green and black bicycle.

They are then said to have attacked the victim and attempted to take his wallet.

But the pair left empty-handed after a passer-by on an e-scooter stopped them during the incident at about 7pm on October 5.

The victim needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

Police have now called for witnesses to come forward to help an investigation into the attempted robbery.

They have not yet spoken to the e-scooter rider and believe he may have key information which could prove vital for detectives.
